British Chevening Scholarships

The Chevening Scholarship Programme is a truly global programme and operates in over 150 countries around the world. Chevening scholarships are also a great way of gaining access to high-quality education.

The scholarships are fully funded and cover course fees, living allowance and return airfare.

Conditions

Yo apply for a scholarship:

1.
You have to contact the British Embassy/High Commission or The British Council in the country of which you are a citizen.
2.
See the full country listing and select the country for which you are a citizen for the application procedure.
3.
Each country will advertise when they are inviting applications for Chevening scholarships and will state their deadline for applications.
4.
Applications will not be dealt with after the date that they give.
5.
If your application meets all of the criteria for the scholarship then you will be short-listed and the local office will write to you and ask you to attend an interview.
6.
You will be interviewed by a panel of interviewers – normally consisting of a member of the British Embassy or High Commission and a member of the British Council.

Any award of a Scholarship to you is conditional on the following:

1.
Confirmation from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London that your nomination is acceptable.
2.
There being sufficient funds available.
3.
the British Council being able to place you on a suitable course.
The British Council being satisfied with the results of a medical examination which you will be asked to undertake prior to departure.

Submission of applications:

1. Completed application forms with a photograph, references and degree transcripts attached.
2. Applications will not be considered:

o Without the inclusion of two references and degree transcripts.
o If there are in Arabic they must be translated into English before being submitted.
