Carnegie Mellon University-AusAID (CMU-AusAID) Scholarships are funded by the Australian Government to support a limited number of students from countries where Australia has a bilateral aid program, to undertake a Masters degree at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University's campus in Adelaide, Australia.



Value

1.
Tuition fees.
2.
Introductory Academic Program: The provision of an Introductory Academic Program for a minimum period of two weeks prior to the commencement of studies
3.
Airfare: Payment of a single return, economy class airfare to and from Australia, via the most direct route.
4.
Establishment Allowance: A once only payment as a contribution towards expenses such as rental bonds, text books, study materials, additional medical insurance, home contents insurance, excess baggage upon return home etc.
5.
Contribution to Living Expenses: A fortnightly contribution to basic living expenses paid at a rate determined by AusAID.
6.
Overseas Student Health Cover: OSHC will be provided to cover the student's basic medical costs.
7.
Pre-course English: If deemed necessary may be available for students for up to a maximum of 12 weeks training in Australia.
8.
Supplementary Academic Support: May be available when essential to improving the student's performance to ensure their academic success.

Conditions

Applicants must:

1.
Have a Letter of Admission to Carnegie Mellon University-Adelaide Campus prior to applying for a CMU-AusAID Scholarship.
2.
Have recently undertaken an English Language Test or have proof that previous learning has been undertaken in English.
3.
Be a citizen of a CMU-AusAID eligible country.
4.
Not hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent resident status (unless you are applying as a citizen of the Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau).
5.
Not be married to/or be a defacto of, or engaged to be married to, a person who holds or is eligible to hold an Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent resident status.
6.
Not hold or have held an Australian government funded scholarship in the preceding 12 months or 2 years (depending on your country of citizenship) at the time of application
7.
Not already be studying at an Australian institution at the time of application
8.
Have been resident and/or working in their country of citizenship prior to the date of their CMU-AusAID Scholarship application.
9.
Meet specific eligibility criteria imposed by the government of their country of citizenship. (Country specific eligibility criteria are available from the Australian Diplomatic Mission in your country of citizenship, or from the contact link below).
